If you’re visiting Roatan via cruise ship, you’ll either be coming into the Port of Roatan in Coxen Hole or Mahogany Bay outside of French Harbour. Jolly Roger Roatan offers door-to-door service for cruise ship passengers who book our tour. Whichever port you come into, we’ll be there smiling and ready to pick you up!
Depending on your time in port in Roatan, you might have time before or after your tour with us to enjoy more of our beautiful island. If you’re coming into Mahogany Bay Cruise Port, here’s what you can expect to find for services and entertainment.
Mahogany Bay Cruise Port on Isla Roatan
Mahogany Bay Cruise Port was designed and is owned by Carnival Corporation. The cruise company built the port here to offer a base for all Carnival family ships, including Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Regent Seven Seas, and Oceania ships. Costa, Thomson, and P&O also dock at Mahogany Bay.
The port is located on Roatan’s southern shore, centrally between the eastern and western tips of the island. The Jolly Roger marina is located just around the corner from Mahogany Bay, making it very convenient and efficient for our guests. In fact, if you take a Western Caribbean Cruise to Mahogany Bay, we will pick you up directly at the port with our catamaran. No buses, no driving, just straight from your cruise ship to our cat.
If you have time before or after our tour to enjoy the port, there is plenty to entertain you. Take the magical chair lift or walk from the port hub down to the beach, where you’ll find restaurants and bars. There are lounge chairs there, though there is no real coral reef for any snorkeling from the beach area. That’s why we pick up at the port but head out a good distance to our favorite snorkeling sites.
Layout of Mahogany Bay Roatan
When you disembark from your cruise ship, you’ll walk down the pier until you reach the large Duty Free shop. From the shop you walk uphill until you reach the central hub of the port at the main water fountain.
Surrounding the fountain are shops, a café, and a bar. Head left to exit the port for all other activities or head right toward the Mahogany Bay beach and restaurants.
The Jolly Roger tour meets by the water fountain. You’ll notice many tour operators there with signs for their respective tours, so be sure to look out for our catamaran sailing and snorkeling sign!
Once you fill out your paperwork and we have all our guests ready to go, we’ll walk down the pier to our waiting catamaran. If you have any mobility restrictions, please let your cruise ship shore excursion team know so we can best accommodate you.
We look forward to seeing you in Roatan soon!
